The Elevated Zero-Maze for mouse IR version, is an alternative model to the Elevated ZERO Maze (EZM) for mouse.
It's completely built using a special plastic IR transparent material, legs including.
Using a bottom IR illumination (the Ugo Basile LUX 100) and an IR video camera for video tracking, the set-up, gives You the possibility to perform EZM test in darkness with a perfect hight contrast between animal and maze, regardless the animal color.
The maze has the exact shape of the traditional metal built EZM
Take a look of the pictures to appreciate the high level of contrast while the animal is inside or outside the maze walls, this gives your a very precise video tracking with any video tracking software you use.
Background
- The circular design provides the animals with a spontaneous transition as it simply keeps walking on the maze (rather than choosing one of the two open arms in the Elevated Zero Maze) This IR version gives You the ability to perform the test in darkness and have the best contrast despite any animal color during the video tracking.
- To complete an automatic set-up you need to add an IR bottom light source (the Ugo Basile LUX100) plus an IR sensitive video camera (Ugo Basile SKU: 47400-040) plus a Vido Tracking software like ANY-Maze.
