The Company

Ugo Basile is a world leading manufacturer of instrumentation for biomedical research in neuroscience, cardiology and respiration. We are always looking for ambitious and highly motivated, young professionals to become part of our team.

The Candidate

We are looking for a candidate who is/has:

  • Fluent English mandatory and German a strong plus language
  • Life science or engineering background (PhD and research experience, strong plus)
  • Proactive and self-starter attitude to sales and account management
  • Ambition, entrepreneurial spirit and “can do” attitude is mandatory; experience in inside/outside sales is a plus

What would a day at work look like:

Get training and coaching to become an expert in Ugo Basile solutions and how to sell them; understand the needs of our target prospects and articulate the value that Ugo Basile provides; generate, receive, and qualify leads and follow-up until closing; maintain accurate information on prospects and interaction activities in our CRM; work closely with the sales/marketing team to develop new ways to expand and penetrate the market with traditional and digital tools.

The Candidate and Requirements

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, energetic and perseverant, with strong goal orientation to contribute to the company growth.

We are looking for an individual who is eager to learn and pitch technical and scientific topics, willing to travel up to 50% of her/his time.

She/he is not afraid to hit the phone and knock doors to engage with new customers and grow our sales with existing customers.

This implies relationship building skills, multitasking, curiosity and willingness to develop as a professional by managing the large Ugo Basile existing customer base, develop it further and spot new opportunities.

Key requirements include:

  • A motivated, proactive sales approach with a strong sales funnel management discipline and business ethics
  • Ability to build customer relationships from scratch, using face to face interactions as well as “cold calls”
  • Good balance between “sales hunting” and “sales farming” attitude
  • Ability to think on their feet, react to challenges, while also thinking strategically to expand the market
  • Proactive problem solving abilities with a bias for action and flexibility for changing market conditions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a proficient user of office based IT
  • Fluent English mandatory and German a strong plus language
  • Technical/Science background is a must
