Les Neurosciences chinoises, un événement incontournable et toujours couronné des nombreuses visites et projets

The 12th edition of the Biennial Conference of CHINESE NEUROSCIENCE SOCIETY recently took place in Tianjin, a metropolis in northern coastal Mainland China and one of the four national central cities of the country, and with a total population of almost 16 millions, the world's 6th-most populous city.

Ugo Basile's Chinese and Italian team has proudly illustrated to the many visitors an ample selection of new and classical products. The "passport competition" attracted a lot of young PhDs at our booth: congratulations to the lucky winner of our valuable prize!

Les Premier prix "Data Blitz" fruits d'une collaboration SFETD-UGO BASILE

“Data blitz Young researchers” Best Presentation

Very promising students and young researchers from all around France came together at the UGO BASILE data Blitz session during the annual SFETD meeting in Nice.  Six of them have presented the substantial progress made with their lab members in the comprehension of the pain sensation and how to treat it. It’s been a showcase in front of top level clinicians and basic researchers, a reality check with the clinical picture of patients.

A very narrow voting result among all these top-level presentations but thanks to the electronic voting developed by the SFETD organisation, we are very pleased to congratulate again the two award winners for the Ugo Basile prizes:

First prize: a UGO BASILE instrument for the evaluation of pain sensation on rodents to ARMAND DRIEU LA ROCHELLE (RCPG, Pain and inflammation Illkirch), Pharmacist and phd student for his presentation: Analgesia without tolerance: characterization of a mix molecule, opioid agonist and FF neuropeptide antagonist

Second prize: cash award to CYRIL GOUDET (Institut IGF, Neuroreceptors, Dynamics and Function, Phd, CNRS young researcher) for his presentation "Rapid and reversible modulation of chronic pain behaviours through light manipulation of endogenous receptors in the amygdala

We thank all participants including Meggane MELCHIOR (Strasbourg), Clément VERKEST (Valbonne), Cédric PEIRS (Clermont-Ferrand), Line RAHAL (Paris) who can be proud of their performance.

This is what Professor Barry J. Hoffer (Clevland) & Professor Yuan-Hao Chen et Al. from the National Defense Medical Center Taipei, Taiwan (Department of Neurological Surgery) have concluded in a publication in NATURE SCIENTIFIC REPORTS.

Using UGO BASILE TREADMILL and ROTAROD They designed the research and performed the experiment which demonstrate the positive effects of a daily exercise session, on kinematics and motor coordination, cortico-striatal plasticity and reduction of DA receptor supersensitivity. 


“Parkinson’s disease is second most common neuron degenerative disease, and is characterized by symptoms related to progressive dopamine neuron loss within the substantia nigra pars compacta1. In addition to dopaminergic
neuron loss, other neurotransmitter systems have been indicated to be involved in the disease; thus PD is now been thought to be multisystem disorder. Gait disturbances have been shown in Parkinson’s disease (PD)4. In addition to the typical motor deficits in Parkinson’s disease including bradykinesia, rigidity, resting tremor and postural instability, increasing data has indicated that incoordination and temporal asymmetry results in disturbances of internal gait rhythm and walking speed in PD subjects5. The cadence and double stand time also increases. Moreover, the deficits in spatial indices of gait seen in PD patients and animals includes short steps, decreased stride length and freezing7. These abnormalities in gait increased as the disease progressed. Exercise is currently an important treatment for PD.”
